Srinagar: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday conducted raids at several locations in Jammu and Kashmir as part of an investigation into a Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terror conspiracy case.
The operation targeted individuals suspected of involvement in spreading propaganda and recruiting youth for the banned outfit.
As per a statement issued, a copy of which lies with the news agency JKNS, raids were carried out in Baramulla, Reasi, Budgam, and Anantnag districts of J&K. It reads that officials seized various incriminating materials, including electronic devices such as mobile phones, pen drives, and hard disks, along with documents linked to the case.
“The investigation centers around Sheikh Sultan Salah Uddin Ayubi, a JeM operative arrested in October, who allegedly played a key role in radicalizing youth and promoting JeM’s activities in the region,” reads the statement.
