Kulgam: At least three residential houses were damaged in a late-night fire incident in Paniwah village of South Kashmir district Kulgam, officials said.

An official told the news agency JKNS that at least three houses were damaged in a late-night fire incident in Paniwah village of Kulgam.

He said the fire first started from one house and soon engulfed two other houses, leaving all three in flames and making the families homeless in the harsh winter.

He said the affected houses belong to Ghulam Mohiuddin Bhat, son of Jalal Din Bhat; Mohammad Shaban Bhat, son of Mohammad Abdullah Bhat; and Bashir Ahmad Bhat, son of Mohammad Abdullah Bhat.

Meanwhile, the fire was brought under control by fire tenders with assistance from the local residents, but the houses were damaged in the fire while no casualties were reported.—(JKNS)
