Srinagar, Nov 11 (JKNS): Voting continued steadily across Jammu & Kashmir’s Nagrota and Budgam constituencies on Tuesday, with both seats recording notable turnout figures by 1 p.m., according to official sources.
As per data accessed by news agency JKNS, Nagrota Assembly Constituency (AC-77) saw a voter turnout of approximately 52.44% by 1 p.m., reflecting robust participation from the electorate.
In Budgam Assembly Constituency (AC-27), turnout stood at around 34.01% at the same time, with officials expecting the numbers to climb further as the day progresses.
Polling officers said that despite cold weather conditions, voters continued to arrive at booths in steady numbers, while security forces ensured smooth and peaceful polling across both constituencies.
A total of 17 candidates are contesting the bypolls, including National Conference’s Aga Syed Mehmood, Peoples Democratic Party’s Aga Syed Muntazir, BJP’s Aga Syed Mohsin, and several others. (JKNS)
