Srinagar, Apr 16 (JKNS): Senior Bhartiya Janta Party leaders on Thursday paid rich tributes to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar at a seminar in Srinagar, highlighting his enduring legacy and reiterating their commitment to the principles of social justice, equality and empowerment that continue to shape the nation’s progress.

Ashok Koul, General Secretary (Organization), J&K BJP, paid rich tributes to Dr. B. R. Ambedkar while addressing a seminar held at Amar Singh Club in Srinagar, as per news agency JKNS.

J&K BJP State General Secretary Mohammad Anwar Khan, J&K BJP State Secretaries Mudasir Wani and Arif Raja, Programme Incharge & Spokesperson Er. Sahil Bashir, along with other State Office Bearers and Senior Leaders, were present on the occasion.

Ashok Koul, addressing party leaders and participants, emphasized that Dr. Ambedkar was not merely the architect of the Indian Constitution but a visionary reformer who dedicated his life to establishing a just and equitable society.

He said that Ambedkar’s ideals of social justice, equality, and empowerment of the marginalized sections remain the guiding principles for nation-building even today.

Koul stated that the BJP has consistently worked to uphold and promote the ideals of Dr. Ambedkar, ensuring that his vision is translated into concrete policies and welfare measures.

He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government has taken historic steps to honor Dr. Ambedkar’s legacy, ensuring dignity, empowerment, and equal opportunities for all sections of society.

Taking a critical view of past governments, Koul remarked that the Congress leadership including former PM Jawaharlal Nehru, had consistently sidelined and demeaned Dr. Ambedkar during his lifetime.

He asserted that despite Ambedkar’s immense contributions, he did not receive the recognition he truly deserved in that era. It is only in recent years that his contributions have been rightfully acknowledged and celebrated at the national level, Koul added.

Mohammad Anwar Khan, speaking on the occasion, said that the seminar was organized to commemorate the life, ideals, and unparalleled contributions of Dr. Ambedkar to the nation.

He highlighted Dr. Ambedkar’s relentless struggle against social discrimination and his role in shaping a progressive and inclusive India. He said that Ambedkar’s teachings continue to inspire generations to work towards equality and justice. (JKNS)
