Khag, Apr 18 (JKNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today held an important meeting at Khag in connection with the upcoming Panchayat elections.
The meeting was led by senior PDP leader Manzoor Ahmed Wani and witnessed participation from a large number of party workers.
Addressing the gathering, Wani stressed the need to strengthen the party at the grassroots level and directed workers to maintain close contact with the public and intensify outreach at the village level.
Criticising the performance of the present administration, Wani stated that over the past two years, the government has failed to meet the expectations of the people. He questioned the lack of tangible development during this period and said that several promises remain unfulfilled.
Referring to public sentiment, he said that people had cast their votes with the hope of safeguarding their aspirations, but many of those expectations have not been fulfilled.
Highlighting local concerns, Wani appealed to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to upgrade the Sub-District Hospital Khag into a full-fledged district hospital, noting that it caters to nearly 50 surrounding villages and requires improved facilities.
The meeting concluded with party workers reiterating their commitment to strengthening the PDP at the grassroots level and preparing for the upcoming Panchayat elections. (JKNS)
