Kupwara, Apr 28 (JKNS): In the far-flung border region of Karnah, which remain cut off from the district headquarters for months during harsh winters, a remarkable story of determination and vision has emerged one that is now being recognized at the highest level.
Musrat Bano, a resident of Chamkote Karnah and Chairperson of Iqra Model Public School, has been conferred with a prestigious Achievement Award today by the Hon’ble Union Minister and the Chief Minister for her outstanding contribution as a Woman Entrepreneur in the field of education.
Her journey began in 2008 with just three small rooms and a powerful dream to ensure that children in this remote border area have access to quality education.
Over the years, through sheer dedication and perseverance, she transformed that humble beginning into one of the most successful educational institutions in Karnah and across district Kupwara.
Today, the school stands as a symbol of hope and progress, with more than 250 students enrolled. In a commendable step towards inclusivity, over 10 students from underprivileged backgrounds are provided education completely free of cost.
Beyond education, Musrat Bano has also played a vital role in empowering local youth. In a region where employment opportunities are limited, her institution provides jobs to around 25 young individuals, contributing significantly to the local economy and community development.
Her path has been filled with challenges from harsh weather conditions and geographical isolation to limited resources but her unwavering commitment never allowed her to give up. Instead, she turned every obstacle into an opportunity to grow stronger.
The recognition bestowed upon her today is not just an award, but a celebration of her relentless efforts, visionary leadership, and her mission to uplift society through education.
Musrat Bano’s story is a shining example of how one individual’s determination can bring meaningful change, even in the most remote corners. Her journey continues to inspire many, proving that with courage and dedication, no dream is too distant to achieve. (JKNS)
