Srinagar, Apr 29 (JKNS): In a significant crackdown on terror networks, Jammu and Kashmir Police in Srinagar conducted multiple operations leading to the arrest of a doctor among five over ground workers and recovery of arms, ammunition and other incriminating material, officials said on Wednesday.
A senior police officer confirmed to news agency JKNS that in major development, a joint team led by senior police officers from Zadibal, Soura, Lal Bazar and and Zakoora on Tuesday evening, busted a terrorist hideout at Chana Mohalla, Mulfaq area.
Police recovered one AK-47 rifle along with 14 rounds of ammunition and one hand grenade from the hideout.
In another operation, During the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday, a team from Police Post Khanmoh apprehended five individuals during checking at Nard Sangri, Khanmoh.
During the operation, police recovered two hand grenades, two magazines, live rounds, posters and six mobile phones from their possession. In this regard, registered at Police Station Panthachowk and investigation has been initiated.
Police said further investigation is underway to unearth the broader terror network and identify other associates involved in the activities.
Operations were carried out under the supervision of senior supritendent of police Srinagar, G.V Chakravarty which led to busting of these terror networks in Srinagar. (JKNS)
