Srinagar, Apr 29 (JKNS): Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) Faz Lul Haseeb, on Wednesday said that SMC is set to conduct the auction of shops at Parimpora through a transparent online process, aiming to ensure wide participation and competitive bidding.

Addrwssing press conference, as per news agency JKNS, Haseeb said the auction will be conducted through the forward auction method on May 22 and 23, adding that no physical presence will be required as the entire process will be held online.

“We want maximum participation in the auction. The idea is that everybody should be able to take part easily and transparently,” he said.

He further informed that a formal notice regarding the auction has already been issued and shared through official platforms, including the SMC’s social media handle. The auction will be conducted via the GeM portal to ensure transparency and efficiency.

Highlighting facilitation measures, Haseeb said a dedicated facilitation cell comprising five members has been established in Rooms 207 and 208, Block C of the SMC office to assist participants.

“We want competitive bidding so that both the SMC and the public benefit. Greater participation will ensure better revenue generation and fair opportunity for all,” he added.

The CEO reiterated that the initiative is aimed at streamlining the allocation process while enhancing transparency and public access in civic asset management. (JKNS)
