Srinagar, May 4 (JKNS): A two-year-old child was rescued after a drowning incident in the Jhelum River near Parimpora area of Srinagar on Monday and and was hospitalized, officials said.
Reports reaching news agency JKNS stated that, the child has been identified as 2-year-old, a resident of Fruit Mandi Parimpora.
The child accidentally fell into the river near a footbridge and was later rescued by a local resident.
Officials said the child was rescued alive and immediately shifted to Children Hospital Bemina, where his condition is stated to be serious.
Cognizance has been taken and further investigation has been initiated. (JKNS)
