Srinagar, May 4 (JKNS): The death toll in the road accident that took place in Mattan area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on April 30 has risen to two after another injured youth succumbed to his injuries on Monday, officials said.
Officials told news agency JKNS, the accident occurred near Bumzoo on KP Road when a vehicle overturned, leaving two youth critically injured.
Both the injured were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. One of them, Umer Bashir Bhat, a resident of Pazalpora Bijbehara, had died shortly after the incident.
The second injured, Yawer Manzoor Lone, also a resident of Pazalpora Bijbehara, was undergoing treatment but succumbed to his injuries on Monday morning, officials said.
The tragic incident has left the area in mourning, with locals expressing grief over the loss of two young lives.
Cognizance of the incident has been taken and further investigation has been initiated. (JKNS)
