Srinagar, May 10 (JKNS): An elderly woman lost her life after being hit by a truck at Khudwani area of Kulgam district on Sunday, officials said.
Officials told news agency JKNS that the accident took place when a truck bearing registration number JK03N-9019, hit a pedestrian at Khudwani.
The deceased has been identified as Haleema Banoo, wife of Gulzar Ahmad Lone, a resident of Reshipora Haram Shopian, aged around 64 years.
She sustained grievous injuries in the incident and was initially shifted to PHC Qaimoh for treatment. However, doctors referred her to GMC Anantnag, where she succumbed to her injuries.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident and further investigation has been initiated. (JKNS)
