Bandipora, May 11 (JKNS): Continuing its crackdown against drug trafficking under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday attached immovable property of an alleged drug peddler in Ajas area of Bandipora district under provisions of the NDPS Act.
Police said the attached property, valued at around ₹20 lakh, belongs to Mushtaq Ahmad Rather, son of Late Abdul Kalam Rather, a resident of Rather Mohalla Ajas, who is involved in FIR No. 103/2023 registered under Sections 8/21 of the NDPS Act at Police Post Ajas.
The property was attached under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act after investigations revealed that it had allegedly been acquired through proceeds generated from illicit drug trafficking activities, police said.
Officials said the move is part of the ongoing drive to dismantle the financial networks of drug peddlers and to ensure strict action against those involved in narcotics trade.
Bandipora Police reiterated its commitment to continue its campaign against drug menace and appealed to the public to cooperate with police in making Jammu and Kashmir drug-free. (JKNS)
