Shopian, May 13 (JKNS): Traffic Police Rural Kashmir on Wednesday issued a traffic advisory ahead of the visit of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to Shopian district on Thursday, announcing temporary traffic diversions and movement restrictions on key routes in the district.
According to the advisory issued by the office of SSP Traffic Rural Kashmir, as per news agency JKNS, the movement of vehicular traffic from DPL Crossing Shopian to District Court Crossing (Four-Way Chowk) will remain affected from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM on May 14 in view of the Lieutenant Governor’s visit for inauguration of the Indoor Sports Stadium Aarhama and South Kashmir Volleyball League.
Traffic Police said that motorists are advised to avoid unnecessary travel on the affected stretch during the specified hours to ensure smooth traffic regulation and security arrangements.
As per the diversion plan, vehicles coming from Poonch and Rajouri towards Pulwama and Srinagar will be diverted via Old Bus Stand, Tak Mohalla, Sangloo, Habdipora, Pinjura and Trenz towards Pulwama and Srinagar.
Similarly, traffic from Srinagar and Pulwama towards Shopian, Poonch and Rajouri will be diverted through Keegam, Mispora, Udoora, Trenz, Pinjura, Habdipora and Sangloo via Kanipora towards Herpora.
The advisory further stated that vehicles moving between Shadab Karewa, Zawoora, Manloo, Narpora and Pulwama shall use the Kralchak-Rajpora-Tiken route and vice versa.
Traffic Police Rural Kashmir urged the public to cooperate with authorities and follow the advisory for hassle-free movement and effective traffic management during the VVIP visit. (JKNS)
