Er. Aijaz Hussain Calls Sports Key to Youth Empowerment at Pampore Championship

Pampore, May 21 (JKNS): Er. Aijaz Hussain Rather, State Executive Member BJP and Co-Incharge BJP Minority Morcha, UT of Jammu & Kashmir, participated as the Guest of Honor in the 11th District Pulwama Pencak Silat Championship 2026 held at Birla Open Minds International School (BIOMS), Pampore. The championship is being organised by the District Pulwama Pencak Silat Association and sponsored by the Jammu & Kashmir Sports Council.

 

More than 400 boys and girls from different parts of Pulwama district are participating in the championship, showcasing remarkable talent, discipline, and sportsmanship during the event. The championship witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, coaches, sports lovers, and dignitaries from across the district.

 

The program was organised by District Pulwama Pencak Silat Association Organisation Secretary Sajad Ahmad Bhat along with team member Shah Younis, who played an important role in the successful conduct of the championship.

 

Principal BIOMS Dr. Mehnaz and J&K Police Coach Rayees Ahmad were also present on the occasion and appreciated the efforts being made to promote martial arts and sports activities among the youth of the district.

 

Speaking on the occasion, Er. Aijaz Hussain appreciated the efforts of the organisers for promoting sports culture among the youth and providing a constructive platform for young athletes to display their abilities. He emphasized that sports play a crucial role in personality development, discipline, confidence building, and keeping youth engaged in positive activities.

 

Er. Aijaz Hussain said, “Sports play a vital role in shaping the future of our youth. Such championships not only promote physical fitness and discipline but also encourage young boys and girls to excel at state and national levels while staying connected with positive and constructive activities.”

 

He also congratulated the District Pulwama Pencak Silat Association, coaches, volunteers, and participants for the successful organisation of the championship and extended his best wishes to all the players for their future achievements. (JKNS)
