Srinagar, May 21 (JKNS): In a major crackdown under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Abhiyan, Srinagar Police along with officials from the Drug Control Department conducted a joint inspection drive across several medical shops and pharmaceutical establishments in the Nigeen area, resulting in the sealing of three pharmacies for alleged violations of prescribed norms.
As per news agency JKNS, Police Station Nigeen, in coordination with officials of the Drug Control Department, conducted a joint inspection drive of various medical shops and pharmaceutical establishments within its jurisdiction to ensure strict compliance with prescribed norms and regulations.
During the inspection, several medical shops were thoroughly checked with a focus on maintenance of records, sale of regulated medicines, and adherence to mandatory legal procedures. The drive was aimed at curbing the misuse of pharmaceutical drugs and preventing their illegal distribution.
During the course of inspection, three medical shops were found violating prescribed norms and failing to maintain mandatory records as required under law, it reads.
Acting promptly, the authorities sealed the following establishments, Bhat Medicate Saderbal – Located at Saderbal. Hazratbal Pharmacy – Near Sir Syed Gate, University of Kashmir. New Sahuliyat Pharmacy – Located at Hazratbal Market
Srinagar Police reiterates its commitment towards eradicating the menace of drug abuse and ensuring strict action against individuals or establishments found involved in illegal or negligent practices facilitating drug misuse.
The general public is requested to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and share any information related to drug peddling or illegal sale of medicines with the nearest police establishment. (JKNS)
