Srinagar, May 22 (JKNS): The High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh has granted anticipatory bail to an Army soldier booked in a POCSO and sexual exploitation case registered in Kathua district after the complainant informed the court that she had married the accused and no longer wished to pursue the matter.

According to details available with news agency JKNS, the woman told the High Court that the FIR against the soldier was filed under pressure from her relatives and police officials. She further stated that she had subsequently married the accused and both were now living together peacefully.

The case pertains to allegations of sexual exploitation and offences under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act registered at a police station in Kathua district.

While hearing the anticipatory bail plea, the High Court took note of the changed circumstances, including the marriage between the complainant and the accused as well as the statement made by the woman before the court.

After hearing both sides, the court granted anticipatory bail to the accused soldier subject to conditions mentioned in the order. (JKNS)
