Awantipora, May 22 (JakNS): The University Health Centre, Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), in collaboration with Paras Hospital, organized a comprehensive Basic Life Support (BLS) and First Aid Awareness Programme at the university campus.
The programme witnessed active participation from a large number of students, teaching faculty, and non-teaching staff members.
During the session, the medical team from Paras Hospital conducted demonstrations and interactive training on emergency response techniques, including CPR, management of choking, handling unconscious patients, and other essential first aid procedures.
The participants actively interacted with the experts and gained practical insights into life-saving techniques and emergency preparedness. The programme aimed to create awareness about the importance of timely medical assistance during emergencies and to equip participants with essential skills that can help save lives in critical situations.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Zahida, Medical Officer, University Health Centre IUST, emphasized the significance of such awareness initiatives in educational institutions. She said that the programme was organized to empower students and staff with basic emergency response skills and to promote a culture of health awareness, preparedness, and community responsibility within the university.
She further highlighted that immediate and informed action during medical emergencies can make a crucial difference in saving lives before professional medical help arrives. (JKNS)
