Karnah, May 23 (JKNS): In a vibrant display of patriotism, unity and social responsibility, the Indian Army on Saturday organised a grand marathon from Chamkote to the historic Tithwal War Memorial to commemorate Tithwal Day 2026, with hundreds of locals, youth and security personnel participating enthusiastically in the event.
Today, in commemoration of Tithwal Day 2026, a marathon was organised by the Indian Army from Chamkote to the historic Tithwal War Memorial, reaffirming the spirit of patriotism, unity and social responsibility among the people of Karnah.
The event commenced with participants taking a solemn pledge under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, reiterating their collective resolve towards building a drug-free and healthy society.
Over 500 participants, including youth, students, women, civil society members and Army personnel, enthusiastically participated in the marathon, displaying remarkable energy, discipline and patriotic fervour throughout the event.
The marathon culminated at the Tithwal War Memorial with a solemn wreath-laying ceremony, where the Commander, Shakti Vijay Brigade, laid a wreath and paid rich tributes to the brave hearts who made the supreme sacrifice in the service of the nation.
The ceremony served as a poignant reminder of the valour, courage and selfless dedication of the soldiers who fought to safeguard the sovereignty and integrity of the country.
The event also reflected the enduring bond between the Army and the local populace while promoting national integration, youth engagement, physical fitness and awareness against substance abuse. (JKNS)
