Karnah, Jun 1 ( JKNS): A grand retirement function was organized at Government High School (GHS) Gundishath on Monday to accord a warm and heartfelt farewell to the outgoing Headmaster, Mr. Khalid Mehmood Kakroo, on his superannuation after decades of dedicated and distinguished service in the field of education.
The event witnessed the participation of education officers, school heads, teachers, students, civil society members, and prominent citizens from the area.
The function was graced by the Chief Education Officer (CEO) Kupwara, Mr. Manzoor Ahmad Najar, who attended as the Chief Guest. Among other dignitaries present were Mufti Tahir Naqash Bhat, Principal HSS Tadd, the Zonal Education Officers of Teetwal, Chamkote and Tangdhar, besides several senior officers of the Education Department.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest and other speakers paid rich tributes to Mr. Kakroo for his invaluable contribution to the promotion of quality education and the overall development of educational institutions during his long and illustrious career.
They described him as a committed, visionary and highly respected educationist whose services would continue to inspire future generations.
The speakers highlighted Mr. Kakroo’s exemplary leadership, professional excellence, sincerity and unwavering dedication towards students and the teaching fraternity. They commended his relentless efforts in maintaining academic standards and creating a positive and progressive learning environment in the institutions he served.
In his farewell address, Mr. Khalid Mehmood Kakroo expressed gratitude to the Education Department, colleagues, students and the local community for their constant support and cooperation throughout his service career.
He urged the younger generation of teachers to uphold the values of dedication, integrity and commitment while serving society through education.
The function concluded with the presentation of mementos and tokens of appreciation to the retiring Headmaster in recognition of his outstanding services. Special prayers were also offered for his good health, happiness and a fulfilling post-retirement life. (JKNS)
