Karnah, Jun 11 (JKNS): Managing Director, J&K Medical Supplies Corporation Ltd, Tariq Hussain Ganai (JKAS) today visited Seemari, one of the remotest border villages in Teetwal Block of Karnah Sub-Division, to review developmental activities being implemented under the Government of India’s Vibrant Village Programme (VVP) Phase-II.

 

Seemari holds unique significance as the first village situated along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Karnah sector and has been identified for focused development under the Vibrant Village Programme Phase-II aimed at improving infrastructure, public services and livelihood opportunities in border areas.

 

On his arrival, the Managing Director chaired a public outreach-cum-review meeting with officers and local residents. Welcoming the visiting officer, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Karnah highlighted the transformative vision of the Vibrant Village Programme and apprised the gathering about its role in ensuring inclusive development, strengthening border communities and improving the quality of life in far-flung villages such as Seemari.

 

The Block Development Officer Teethwal presented a detailed profile of the village and briefed the gathering about the developmental works completed and those presently under execution under various government schemes.

 

During the interaction, local residents projected several issues and demands pertaining to road connectivity viz. Seemari to Kadhama Road, augmentation of drinking water facilities in Phagwan area, transportation facilities for students, healthcare services, mobile network connectivity and strengthening of public distribution infrastructure.

 

Talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS),The Managing Director sought detailed feedback from all line departments regarding the status of ongoing works and future developmental interventions planned for the village. He directed the concerned officers to submit comprehensive action plans and progress reports for timely redressal of public issues.

 

Several grievances were addressed on the spot during the meeting. The officers also informed that homestay facilities would be promoted in the area to boost rural tourism and generate sustainable livelihood opportunities for local youth. Progress achieved under various beneficiary-oriented schemes, including PMAY-G, social welfare initiatives, street lighting and other developmental programmes, was also reviewed.

 

Speaking on the occasion, the Managing Director JK MSC Ltd reiterated the need to promote sports and youth engagement activities in the village and emphasized that sports infrastructure and related initiatives play a vital role in channelizing the energy of rural youth.

 

He further directed all line departments to ensure saturation of eligible beneficiaries under various welfare and development schemes so that the intended benefits reach every deserving household.

 

The Managing Director stressed upon close inter-departmental coordination for expeditious implementation of developmental projects and called for sustained efforts to transform seemari village into vibrant and self-reliant communities.

 

The event was attended by the SDM Karnah, Block Development Officer Teetwal, Executive Engineer SSD Tangdhar and other district and block-level officers.

 

Later, the Managing Director undertook an extensive field visit of the village and inspected various ongoing developmental works and public infrastructure projects. (JKNS)
