Srinagar, June 19 (JKNS): The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) Kashmir of Crime Branch J&K has booked five accused persons in connection with an alleged multi-crore migrant land fraud case in Baramulla and conducted a house search in Budgam as part of the ongoing investigation into the fraudulent sale of a 14-kanal and 3-marla property through fake agreements and criminal conspiracy.

As per news agency JKNS, The Economic Offences Wing Kashmir of Crime Branch J&K conducted a house search at Banit Beerwah, District Budgam, in connection with an FIR registered under relevant sections of law at Police Station EOW Kashmir.

The case pertains to an alleged land fraud and cheating involving migrant land measuring 14 kanals and 03 marlas situated at Goshbugh Pattan in District Baramulla, which was sought to be sold through fraudulent means, fake agreements, and criminal conspiracy.

During investigation, five accused persons were found involved in duping the complainant of crores of rupees on the pretext of sale of the land without the consent of the actual owner. The search was conducted as part of further investigation into the case.

Further investigation into the matter is underway.

The general public is advised to remain vigilant against economic fraudsters and report any such incidents directly to SSP EOW Kashmir, Crime Branch J&K. Victims of economic fraud may also send their complaints to the official email: sspeow-kmr@jkpolice.gov.in . (JKNS)
