Officials told news agency JKNS that the worker had suffered severe burn injuries in the incident that occurred on June 18 and was undergoing treatment at the hospital since then. However, despite efforts by doctors, he succumbed to his injuries on Sunday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Fayaz Ahmad Bhat (40), son of Abdul Ahad Bhat, a resident of Arin area of Bandipora district.

As reported earlier, seven labourers were injured after a machine installed inside the cement factory at Khonmoh allegedly developed a technical fault and burst while the workers were on duty on Thursday evening. All the injured were immediately shifted to hospital for treatment.
