District Budgam Kudo Championship 2026 Concludes Successfully

Budgam, July 7 (JKNS): The District Budgam Kudo Championship 2026, organized by the District Budgam Kudo Association, affiliated with the J&K Kudo Association, concluded successfully today at Iqra International School, Kanihama, Magam, Budgam.

Around 250 players from various schools and Kudo clubs across Budgam district participated enthusiastically in different age and weight categories. The championship provided young martial artists with an excellent platform to showcase their talent, discipline, sportsmanship, and competitive skills.

The closing ceremony was graced by MLA Beerwah, Dr. Shafi Ahmad Wani, as the Chief Guest. Addressing the gathering, he appreciated the efforts of the District Budgam Kudo Association in promoting sports and martial arts among the youth.

Dr. Wani said, “Sports play a significant role in the overall personality development of children and young people. They instill discipline, self-confidence, leadership qualities, and teamwork while improving both physical and mental health. Such competitions should be organized regularly so that our youth adopt a healthy lifestyle and remain away from social evils. I congratulate all the players, coaches, referees, and organizers for making this championship a grand success.”

One of the student participants shared his experience, saying, “Participating in this championship was a wonderful learning experience. It helped improve our skills, boosted our confidence, and provided us with a healthy competitive environment to showcase our abilities. We are grateful to the organizers for providing such an excellent platform.”

The organizers expressed their gratitude to Iqra International School, Kanihama, for providing excellent facilities and extending full cooperation in hosting the championship. They also acknowledged the support of government authorities, volunteers, coaches, parents, participating schools, Kudo clubs, and everyone whose collective efforts contributed to the successful conduct of the event.

Presenting the vote of thanks, the organizers thanked the Chief Guest, distinguished guests, school management, coaches, referees, volunteers, players, parents, media representatives, and all supporters for their valuable contributions. They reaffirmed their commitment to organizing more such championships in the future to promote Kudo and encourage young sporting talent in Budgam district.

The championship concluded with the distribution of medals and certificates among outstanding performers and all participants. The successful event was hailed as another significant milestone in the promotion and development of Kudo in Budgam district. (JKNS)
