Kulgam, July 10 (JKNS): A minor boy drowned after accidentally slipping into the Vishow stream in Hassanpora Bagh area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Friday, officials said.
Officials told news agency JKNS that the incident occurred when the boy accidentally fell into the stream and was swept away by the water.
They said local residents immediately launched a rescue operation, retrieved the child from the stream and rushed him to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Bijbehara for treatment.
However, doctors at the hospital declared him brought dead.
The deceased has been identified resident of Hassanpora Bagh, Kulgam.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated further proceedings. (JKNS)
