Jammu, July 19 (JKNS): The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra and the pilgrimage to Shri Shiv Khori have been temporarily suspended due to inclement weather and heavy rainfall forecast across Jammu region.
Details available with news agency JKNS stated that, the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board announced the temporary suspension of the pilgrimage in view of the adverse weather advisory issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
“Jai Mata Di…!!! In view of the inclement weather advisory issued by the Indian Meteorological Department, Vaishno Devi Yatra shall remain temporarily suspended. Devotees may stay updated through official channels,” the advisory issued by the Shrine Board stated.
Meanwhile, authorities have also suspended the pilgrimage to the revered Shri Shiv Khori shrine in Reasi district following the IMD’s forecast of heavy rainfall and prevailing inclement weather conditions in the Ransoo area.
Officials said the decision has been taken purely as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of pilgrims.
The Shrine Board is continuously monitoring the weather situation and has advised devotees to check the latest official updates before planning their journey.
Authorities have appealed to pilgrims to cooperate with the administration and avoid unnecessary travel until weather conditions improve and the pilgrimage routes are declared safe for movement. (JKNS)
