Karnah, July 30 (JKNS): In a bid to promote public awareness against drug abuse and contribute towards building a healthy and drug-free society, students and teachers of Saifi Memorial New Light School Tangdhar, in collaboration with the Karnah administration, launched a practical drive under the “War Against Bhang” campaign.
As part of the campaign, students and teachers actively participated in identifying, uprooting, and destroying bhang (cannabis) plants growing in different areas of the region.
The campaign witnessed enthusiastic participation from both students and teachers, who also spread awareness among the public about the harmful effects of drug abuse. They emphasised that collective efforts are essential to protect the younger generation from the menace of addiction and ensure a healthier future for society.
On the occasion, the school administration stated that educational institutions are not limited to imparting academic knowledge but also have an important role to play in bringing positive change to society. They appealed to parents, youth, and local residents to extend their cooperation to the concerned authorities in eliminating drug abuse and identifying and removing such plants from their surroundings.
At the conclusion of the campaign, the participants pledged to continue taking an active part in similar initiatives in the future to keep their surroundings free from drugs and strengthen public awareness against substance abuse. (JKNS)
