Srinagar, Sept 12 (JKNS): The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), J&K, on Saturday produced a charge sheet against former Patwari Darbinder Singh and Nashar Ahmad before the Special Judge, Anti-Corruption, Udhampur, in a bribery case registered in 2023 after the accused were allegedly caught red-handed while demanding and accepting bribe from a complainant.
Spokesperson in a statement issued here to news agency JKNS stated that, today on 12.09.2026, Anti-Corruption Bureau J&K produced charge sheet in case FIR No.01/2023 of P/S ACB Udhampur under section 07 P.C Act 1988 (Amended 2018) before the Hon’ble Court of Special Judge, Anti-Corruption Udhampur against accused persons namely Darbinder Singh the then Patwari Halqa Rasli Gandheran Basantgarh, Udhampur and Nashar Ahmad S/o Mohd Iqbal R/O Basantgarh.
The above mentioned case was registered on the basis of a written complaint lodged by one Bodh Raj S/O Sh. Mansu R/O Rasli Gadheran Basantgarh Udhampur at P/S ACB Udhampur-Reasi alleging therein that he had applied for issuance of fard of his land which he wanted to sold out to one Madan Lal.
Subsequently, he approached the then Patwari Halqa Rasli Gadheran who demanded bribe from him for issuance of the fard.
The complaint was got verified through officer of ACB Udhampur Reasi Branch who submitted the verification report that the complaint is genuine and recommended for registration of FIR.
Accordingly, the instant case was registered and a successful trap was laid, wherein the accused Darbinder Singh Patwari Patwar Halqa Rasli Gadheran, Basantgarh and driver of vehicle bearing Registration No. JK02 BV-9048 namely Nashar Ahmad S/O Mohd Iqbal R/O Basantgarh were caught red handed while demanding and accepting the bribe amount from the complainant.
Based on the evidences collected in the case, commission of offence U/S 7 P.C Act 1988 (Amended 2018) was established against the above named accused persons.
Accordingly, today charge sheet in the instant case has been produced before the Hon’ble Anti Corruption Court, Udhampur for further judicial proceeding. (JKNS)
