Srinagar, Sep 16 (JKNS): As part of its ongoing efforts towards community welfare and inclusive development, the Kilo Force conducted a community outreach programme for the Gujjar and Bakkarwal community at Sultanpur Kandi, Bandibala, on September 15, focusing on education, skill development, welfare schemes and engagement with local residents and community leaders.
As per news agency JKNS, Kilo Force conducted a community outreach programme for Gujjar and Bakkarwal Community in Sultanpur Kandi, Bandibala on 15 September 2026.
As the local populace plays a vital role in societal and nation building as well, the aim of the event was to empower Gujjar and Bakkarwal community by encouraging children to pursue education, engaging with youth to explore skill development and career opportunities and engaging with elders and community leaders on local issues.
The programme included distribution of solar lights to the people living in Dhoks enabling their children to pursue education and build a brighter future. Awareness sessions on various government welfare schemes aimed at enhancing access to healthcare, education and social welfare schemes were also conducted. The event also provided an opportunity for meaningful interaction with local residents & community leaders thereby providing a meaningful platform to strengthen civil military relationship and inspiring local populace towards nation building. More than 200 locals from the adjoining areas of Bandibala attended the programme. Beyond its primary responsibility of safeguarding the Nation’s borders, the Indian Army continues to extend its effort towards nation building and conveying the enduring message of “Aman and Awam”.
