Budgam, September 28, 2026: Prominent political activist and former Vice Chairman of J&K Cements Ltd., Er. Nazir Yatoo, met Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Athar Aamir Khan, IAS, to discuss arrangements for the upcoming Urs of Sheikh Noor-ud-Din Noorani (RA), scheduled to be held on October 7 at Charar-i-Sharief.
During the meeting, Er. Yatoo raised several issues concerning the convenience and safety of devotees expected to attend the Urs. He stressed the need to ensure that roads leading to Charar-i-Sharief, particularly from Chadoora and other adjoining areas, remain clear and free from encroachments, construction material, debris and other obstructions.
Er. Yatoo said that the approach roads and surroundings should be properly maintained so that devotees travelling to Charar-i-Sharief get a welcoming atmosphere befitting the significance of the Urs. He also discussed arrangements for the convenience of devotees, including smooth traffic movement and other basic facilities.
He further raised issues related to the condition of roads in far-flung areas of the Charar-i-Sharief constituency, urging the administration to take necessary measures to improve connectivity for the local population.
DC Budgam assured Er. Nazir Yatoo that the issues raised during the meeting would be taken up on priority. He further assured that the administration would remain fully geared up and ensure necessary arrangements for the smooth conduct of the upcoming Urs and the convenience of devotees.
