J&K-Rest of India Clash to Feature DRS, Hawkeye and 20-Camera Broadcast Setup
Srinagar, Sept 28 (JKNS): The stage is set for a landmark cricketing spectacle in Srinagar as the JKCA ground at Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Stadium, Sonwar, prepares to host its first-ever Irani Cup clash from October 1 to 5.
As per news agency JKNS, The Ranji Trophy champions Jammu and Kashmir will lock horns with the Rest of India in the prestigious five-day first-class fixture, marking another significant moment for J&K cricket after its historic Ranji Trophy title.
The match will also bring advanced broadcast and decision-making technology to the Valley, with a multi-camera setup, DRS, Hawkeye, stump microphones and enhanced scoring and graphics systems being installed at the venue.
The technical arrangements include gantry cameras on both sides of the ground, specialised slip and spin-vision cameras and six Hawkeye cameras dedicated to DRS operations.
Cricket fans will be able to watch the encounter live on Star Sports, while the match will also be available for streaming on JioHotstar.
The high-profile fixture has already generated excitement among cricket followers, with India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant among the players who have arrived in Srinagar ahead of the contest.
The Sonwar venue will remain in focus after the Irani Cup as well, with Jammu and Kashmir scheduled to face Madhya Pradesh in a Ranji Trophy league encounter. (JKNS)
