New Delhi, Oct 5 (JKNS): The ninth edition of the India–Kazakhstan Joint Military Exercise KAZIND-2026 is in full swing at Oskemen, Kazakhstan, with troops from the Indian and Kazakhstan Armed Forces undertaking joint training to enhance combat skills, coordination and interoperability.

The exercise, being conducted from 28 September to 11 October 2026, provides an opportunity for the two contingents to train together, exchange operational experiences and familiarise themselves with each other’s tactics, techniques and procedures.

As part of the ongoing training, the troops participated in joint physical training and sporting activities, strengthening physical fitness and team spirit. A tactical navigation exercise was conducted through the Akhmirovo Training Area, providing the soldiers an opportunity to hone navigation skills and practice coordinated movement across varied terrain.

The contingents also undertook joint weapon handling and tactical training, along with small arms live firing and combined combat exercises. The training is aimed at sharpening battlefield skills and developing greater coordination during integrated operations.

The Indian contingent also conducted a joint Yoga session with their Kazakh counterparts. The activity provided an opportunity for interaction and further strengthened camaraderie and bonhomie among the troops of the two countries.

The ongoing training is facilitating the exchange of best practices and operational experiences, while enhancing mutual understanding of the two forces’ training methodologies and operational procedures.

Exercise KAZIND-2026 continues to reinforce the longstanding defence cooperation and bonds of friendship between India and Kazakhstan, while providing both contingents a platform to enhance their ability to operate together effectively in a joint environment. (JKNS)
