Srinagar, Oct 11 (JKNS): Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Sunday condemned the alleged use of force by Delhi Police against Rajya Sabha MP John Brittas, terming the incident “unacceptable” and “indefensible.”
In a post on X, as per news agency JKNS, CM Omar said, “Unacceptable use of force by Delhi Police. Beating up an unarmed protestor, setting aside the fact that in this case the victim is actually an elected member of parliament, is unacceptable under any circumstances & is indefensible.”
He said he joined his colleagues in the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) in condemning what he described as “reprehensible brutality.”
Omar was responding to a post by the Communist Party of India (Marxist) on X, which alleged that Brittas had been brutally attacked by Delhi Police and later dropped by the roadside in an injured and distressed condition.
“DELHI POLICE HAS CROSSED ALL LIMITS!” the CPI(M) wrote in its post. (JKNS)
