Sopore, Oct 11 (JKNS): IPS officer Neha Jain on Sunday assumed charge as Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Police District Sopore, succeeding Iftkhar Talib (JKPS), with a focus on strengthening public safety, professional policing and intensifying action against drug-related and anti-social activities.

Upon her arrival at District Police Headquarters Sopore, the new SSP Sopore was received by senior police officers and was presented a Guard of Honour.
On assuming charge, Neha Jain IPS held an introductory meeting with all supervisory officers. She stressed on professional and people-friendly policing, strengthening public safety, effective crime prevention, community engagement and zero tolerance towards drugs and anti-social activities.
She further expressed her commitment to maintaining peace, law and order and ensuring security across the Police District, with special focus on public grievance redressal.
The officers of Police District Sopore extended a warm welcome to the new SSP and assured full cooperation in maintaining peace and harmony in the district. (JKNS)
