Drug cases to be mandatorily flagged in passport and job verification processes; SSP orders strict scrutiny across all clearances
Srinagar, Apr 28 (JKNS): In a strong move against the drug menace, SSP Anantnag Amod Ashok Nagpure has directed that individuals involved in drug-related cases will not be granted security clearance in any form, officials said on Tuesday.
An official told agency JKNS, SSP Anantnag Maod Ashok Nagpure IPS has ordered that all drug-linked individuals will be clearly flagged during passport verification and job-related background checks.
The directive further states that narcotics-related cases must be properly recorded and reflected in official verification reports to ensure strict scrutiny at all levels of administrative and security clearance processes.
Police said the decision aims to curb the facilitation of drug offenders in sensitive appointments and documentation processes, thereby strengthening the overall anti-narcotics framework.
Reaffirming its commitment to the “War on Drugs,” Anantnag Police said such measures are necessary to dismantle drug networks and protect youth from the growing threat of substance abuse. (JKNS)
