Kupwara, May 9 (JKNS): In a major healthcare outreach initiative aimed at providing specialised medical support to the people of Kupwara, a Free Cancer Detection and Medical Camp was organised jointly by Quality Healthcare Hospital Drugmullah, the Indian Army and the Civil Administration Kupwara at Galzoo Ground on Saturday.

A Free Cancer Detection and Medical Camp was organised by Quality Healthcare Hospital, Drugmullah along with Indian Army & Civil Administration Kupwara at Galzoo Ground, Kupwara on 09 May 2026 for the welfare of bereaved patients.

The main aim of the camp was to test and screen cancer patients with special diagnosis from a team of oncologists led by Col (Dr) Ashok Kumar (Retd).

The camp was instrumental in providing cancer patients with a platform for precise diagnosis and proper consultation that benefited them manifold. Over 50+ cancer patients visited among the 400+ patients who also utilised the services of 10 other doctors from various disciplines ranging from Gastroenterology, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Paediatrics, General Medicine, Audiometry and Gynaecology, along with free medical testing facilities and a free pharmacy for distribution of medicines.

The camp was also graced by DC Kupwara, who addressed the patients and urged them to utilise such facilities and work towards a Nasha Mukt and Rog Mukt Bharat. A small lecture on menstrual hygiene and personal cleanliness was also conducted for girl students and madrasa students.

The huge turnout along with smiling faces once again testified to the enduring trust between the Awam and the Security Forces and reflected unity among all while strengthening the vision of a stronger Kupwara. (JKNS)
