Ganderbal Police Seek Public Help to Identify Unidentified Body Recovered From Canal

Ganderbal, May 13 (JKNS): Ganderbal Police on Wednesday sought assistance from the general public in identifying an unidentified male body recovered from a water canal at Dangerpora area of Ganderbal district.

As per news agency JKNS, On 8 May 2026, Ganderbal Police recovered an unidentified Male Dead Body from Water Canal (Maar Yaab Kul) at Dangerpora, Ganderbal. After completion of medico-legal formalities, the body was shifted to the Mortuary at PHC Sonamarg for identification purposes. Despite sustained efforts, the deceased remains unidentified till date.

The facial features of the deceased are disfigured, however the description of the body is as under, • Age: Approximately 25 to 38 years. • Height: About 5 feet 6 inches. • Complexion: Whitish. • Clothing: Wearing a T-shirt and underwear.

Ganderbal Police appeals to the general public that if anybody has any information or clue regarding the identity of the deceased, or wishes to verify the identity of the body, they may kindly visit the Mortuary at PHC Sonamarg or contact the following numbers for assistance, 9906668731
