Anantnag, Jun 1 (JKNS): Intensifying its offensive against narcotics networks under the ongoing 100-Day Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Campaign, the District Administration Anantnag on Sunday demolished an illegal structure built on State land at Batengu and retrieved the encroached property during a joint operation with police.

As per news agency JKNS, District Administration Anantnag, in coordination with the Police department, today carried out a significant demolition drive at Batengu, Anantnag.

During the joint operation, revenue authorities supported by a police team demolished one (01) illegal structure/shop raised on State Land under Khasra No. 1156 in Estate Batengu. The demolished structure was found to be linked with one person involved in a case under the NDPS Act. The revenue department also ensured the retrieval of the encroached State Land through this joint action.

Meanwhile, the District Administration has reiterated its firm commitment to maintaining a zero-tolerance policy against drug peddlers, narcotics networks, and unlawful encroachments. Officials stated that such sustained actions will continue under the 100 Day Campaign with the focus to break supply chain of drugs in the district. Dismantling the illegal structures raised by the drug peddlers and persons involved in narcotics trade and taking strict punitive action against them is an important facet of this campaign, they emphasised.
The administration has also warned that strict action will be taken against persons found involved in similar illegal activities in future. (JKNS)
