Against the backdrop of blooming lavender fields adjacent to Khyber Cement’s factory, the company today marked Lavender Day 2026, bringing together government representatives, industry stakeholders and members of the local community in a celebration that has now become an annual tradition.

The event was attended by Safeer Shah, (DCF) Regional Director Kashmir, J&K Pollution Control Committee; Bilal Ahmad Khan, Divisional Officer Srinagar, J&K Pollution Control Committee, along with other stakeholders.

The gathering marked the third consecutive year of Lavender Day celebrations at the site, underscoring a sustained commitment to environmental stewardship and community engagement.

What makes the occasion distinctive is not merely the celebration itself, but its setting.

At a time when conversations around development and sustainability are often framed as competing priorities, Lavender Park stands as a visible reminder that industrial progress and environmental responsibility can advance together.

The Lavender Park has evolved into a symbol of how industry can contribute positively to the character and landscape of Jammu & Kashmir.

Speaking on the occasion, Safeer Shah, (DCF) Regional Director Kashmir, J&K Pollution Control Committee, commended Khyber Cement for its efforts in developing and maintaining Lavender Park and appreciated the company’s commitment towards promoting environmental consciousness alongside industrial growth.

He also congratulated Khyber Cement on being recognized as the Best Cement Brand of Jammu & Kashmir, noting that the achievement reflects the company’s dedication to quality, leadership and responsible development.

Riaz Tramboo, Director Operations, Khyber Cement, said:

“The significance of Lavender Day lies in what it represents. For three consecutive years, this celebration has brought people together at a place where industry, nature and community converge. It reflects our belief that progress is most meaningful when it creates value for the region, respects its character and contributes to a future that benefits everyone.”

Through initiatives that extend beyond its core business, Khyber Cement has consistently sought to demonstrate how industry can act as a catalyst for positive change while remaining rooted in the needs and aspirations of the region.

For Khyber Cement, the continued observance of Lavender Day reflects an enduring commitment to creating value beyond industry, fostering an environment where economic progress, community well-being and ecological stewardship can flourish together.
