Budgam, Aug 3 (JKNS): The Jammu & Kashmir Anjuman-e-Sharie Shian has commenced Arbaeen-e-Hussaini (AS) commemorations and mourning processions across various parts of the Kashmir Valley to mark the 40th day of the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (AS).
As part of these observances, a grand religious gathering was held at Labertal in Budgam district, where a Majlis-e-Aza was followed by a large mourning procession led by the President of the organization, Hujjat-ul-Islam wal-Muslimeen Aga Syed Hassan Mosavi Al-Safavi. Tens of thousands of mourners participated in the procession with deep devotion, reverence, and solemnity.
Before the procession, congregational Zuhr and Asr prayers were offered at Imam Bara Labertal under the leadership of Aga Syed Hassan Mosavi Al-Safavi. Following the prayers, participants paid rich tributes to the martyrs of Karbala (AS) and renewed their commitment to uphold the ideals and mission of Imam Hussain (AS).
Addressing the Majlis-e-Aza, Hujjat-ul-Islam Aga Syed Mujtaba Abbas Mosavi Al-Safavi said that the grand gathering of Arbaeen is not merely a historical commemoration but a divine religious symbol rooted in the Holy Qur’an, the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and the teachings of the Ahlul Bayt (AS). He stated that expressing grief for the friends of Allah and commemorating the unparalleled sacrifice of Imam Hussain (AS) form an integral part of Islamic teachings.
Referring to Prophet Yaqub’s (AS) grief over separation from Prophet Yusuf (AS) and the Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) tradition of expressing condolences, he said that mourning and the expression of sorrow are firmly established in both the Qur’an and the Prophetic tradition.
Aga Syed Mujtaba Abbas Mosavi Al-Safavi said that Imam Hussain (AS), through the supreme sacrifice of himself, his family members, and his loyal companions in Karbala, sought to rescue humanity from ignorance, oppression, injustice, and misguidance while safeguarding the true spirit and values of Islam. He observed that the participation of millions of devotees of the Ahlul Bayt (AS) in Karbala from across the globe on the occasion of Arbaeen stands as a living testimony to the enduring relevance of Imam Hussain’s (AS) message.
He emphasized that the message of Imam Hussain (AS) continues to inspire humanity and remains a beacon of truth, justice, freedom, steadfastness, and moral awakening. Quoting traditions of the Ahlul Bayt (AS), he highlighted the immense spiritual significance and rewards associated with the pilgrimage and visitation of Imam Hussain (AS), particularly the Arbaeen pilgrimage.
Paying tribute to Hazrat Zainab al-Kubra (SA) and Imam Zain-ul-Abideen (AS), Aga Syed Mujtaba Abbas Mosavi Al-Safavi said that it was their unmatched patience, courage, resilience, and steadfastness that preserved the true message of Karbala for future generations. Their sacrifices and unwavering commitment, he said, transformed the victory of truth over tyranny into an eternal chapter of human history.
He urged the faithful to adopt the spirit of Arbaeen in their daily lives by upholding justice, piety, sincerity, patience, service to humanity, and steadfast resistance against oppression. He added that the message of Arbaeen is not confined to mourning alone but also serves as a powerful call for social justice, moral values, human dignity, and reform in society.
Concluding his address, Aga Syed Mujtaba Abbas Mosavi Al-Safavi prayed for unity among the Muslim Ummah, peace and stability in the Islamic world, and the early reappearance of Imam Al-Mahdi (ATFS).
The Majlis and mourning procession concluded with special prayers for peace and stability in Jammu & Kashmir, unity among Muslims, and the dignity, well-being, and upliftment of oppressed people across the world. (JKNS)
